(80) The segments featured in Two Evil Eyes are hardly “best of” efforts from either George A. Romero or Dario Argento, but both feature notable stars (including fan-favorite horror veterans) and include enough signature elements from their auteurs to make this double-bill a worthwhile watch for many fans. Of the two Poe tales adapted, I greatly prefer Romero’s take on “The Facts in the Case of Mr. Valdemar”. Having said that, Argento’s “Black Cat” is the more disturbing of the pair.
