My Fair Lady (1964)

My Fair Lady (1964) (95) My Fair Lady starts out as an entertaining romp about an aristocrat with dreams of transforming a flower girl into a princess, and grows into a retelling of oh-so-many relationships destroyed by a lack of verbal appreciation. Audrey Hepburn is an absolute showstealer, but it’s apparent that the rest of the cast knew they were acting out a masterpiece. For a supposedly cavalier musical, there are few straightforward dramas that can match the emotional intensity on display here. My Fair Lady represents a crown jewel in several careers, and is a landmark achievement in cinema.
