(78) With Unbreakable, Shyamalan infused a certain credibility to his comic-book story that doesn’t carry over here. Something feels ever-so-slightly off about Glass – like there’s a new director at the reigns – yet this is signature Shyamalan. As with previous works, effective use of color and perspective are undercut by a cinematic world rooted in tenuous logic. Even if the story is a preposterous setup for a twist, it’s nice to have Shyamalan back to his work of quirky thrillers.
