(75) Blade is ample evidence that style over substance gets you by with the right crowd. One-liners may take the brunt of the criticism, but they’re a big part of the allure. Blade is big, dumb, flashy fun – with enough fantasy horror elements to please its intended audience. Now for some harsh truth: Wesley Snipes is suitably cast as Blade, but Kristofferson phones it in as Whistler and many of the smaller performances are downright laughable.
