Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (82) Rogue One does well to distance itself from the main Saga. It stays true to Star Wars, without following the path worn down by the original trilogy (and perhaps worn out by The Force Awakens). That said, there are several ways that Rogue One fails to “stay on target.” It’s main characters are quite cookie-cutter and the aesthetic is a little too moody. Side characters like K-2SO and Chirrut are a big win, though, and the film’s final moments are genuinely epic.
