Logan's Run (1976)
(78) Star Wars released just a year after Logan’s Run and, by comparison with the lived-in world Lucas created, the costumes seen here look like children’s play clothes. Still, there’s something charming about the simple aesthetic, and sci-fi fans will enjoy its familiar themes. The Jerry Goldsmith score is predictably wondrous, and it helps cover for some of the film’s goofier stunts and effects. Logan “runs” a little long once the curtain is lifted on the central mystery, however.
