(91) To reference the film itself, Knives Out is a donut hole within a donut hole. The monologue that provides that particular nugget is one of many moments far funnier than they should be, courtesy of the exceptional ensemble acting them out. Rian Johnson takes jabs in every direction with his screenplay, and his joy in crafting this film shines though the camera and off of the screen. The characters we follow down its ever twisting plot are an assorted bunch, and Knives Out should entertain an audience that’s just as diverse.
