King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962)

King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962)
(73) Goofy as the film can be at times, King Kong vs. Godzilla marks the first instance that each of these legendary monsters appears both in color and in a widescreen format. It’s a real shame that American audiences missed out on Akira Ifukube’s outstanding original score, but both versions are lighthearted and an absolute joy to watch – which helps soften the serious sting of watching Godzilla get cheated out of a clear-cut victory.
