Horror of Dracula (1958)

Horror of Dracula (1958) (85) Hammer Film productions may carry a reputation for schlockiness, but Horror of Dracula proves the studio can hang with the bona fide Universal horror classics when their A-team is at work. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing make for a dream pairing as Dracula and Van Helsing. Terence Fisher sets the mood with the right mixture of fog, suspense, eerie castles, and obviously red paint. Alfred Gough, Melissa Stribling, and the entire supporting cast deliver vibrant performances that mask the limitations a smaller budget can create.
