Halloween (2007) (73) Despite having traded off the brooding terror (and all but the most predictable of scares) from the original film for prolonged sequences of violence, Rob Zombie brings a unique vision to this update. There’s something inherently haunting in his imagery, even if the redundant Michael Meyers psychology lesson is a bore. This Halloween scarcely replicates the impact of Carpenter’s iconic original, but Zombie brings too much to the table to be dismissed outright.
