Gladiator (2000)

Gladiator (2000)(91) Dirt, blood, and roses abound! Ridley Scott’s free particle fetish is on full display in Gladiator… and it’s truly a sight to be seen. Over saturation, color correction, altered frame rates, and crooked zooms – the renowned director pulls out all the stops, yet his trademark visuals aren’t the limit of this film’s appeal. I, and almost everyone else, was obsessed with Gladiator back in 2000, and its action still packs a punch (and a slash, and a stab for that matter). Solid acting all around helps to camouflage routine Hollywood dialogue.
