Gappa: The Triphibian Monster (1967)
(69) Gappa’s human characters and their motivations are nonsensical, but the trio of monsters and their elaborate suits make for some great monster fun. The wacky creature close-ups may go a bit too far, but the cinematography is inspired for a Kaiju film. Overall, the special effects here are hit-or-miss. Many of the sets are lovely, the combat is flashy and satisfying, yet some of the miniature models look under-cooked.
