(82) Though it lacks the impact of the first Borat
feature, Subsequent Moviefilm is timely, hilarious, and crudely entertaining – and there’s a surprisingly gooey heart its center. Cohen’s antics are just as off-the-wall as we’ve come to expect, and Maria Bakalova makes for a delightful partner in crime to Kazakhstan’s infamous celebrity journalist. At times revealing and insightful, at others goofy and wholesome, Subsequent Moviefilm is every bit the shocking, cringe-worthy fare we’ve come to either love or hate from Sacha Baron Cohen.
