Aliens (1986)

Aliens (1986) (92) The title sequence hints early that Aliens both honors its predecessor and blazes its own path forward. As a youth, I wore out a library tape of Aliens, and it was among the first movies I bought on DVD. Even today, the theatrical cut offers action pacing rivaled by few but Cameron’s own T2. The fun cast of characters aren’t as developed as Scott’s crew, but ample time is given to establish how “cool” and “capable” they are before proving how little it matters. Against these monsters, only an iron will prevails.
